The Global Walking Football Alliance (GWFA) exists to give walking football a permanent, recognised place in the international game, not as a breakaway sport, but as a natural extension of it. GWFA operates at the international level, bringing national associations together through international tournaments and supporting emerging walking football nations as they build the game at home. In time, we aim to work directly with FIFA, UEFA, and world football's existing structures. We're built as an alliance, not a governing body: a collaborative partner working within football's structures rather than around them. Together, we build formal pathways, shared standards, and lasting recognition for the sport, giving a growing global community and football's traditional establishment a shared place to meet.

Our mission is to grow walking football as a genuine, permanent part of the global game, not as a separate movement running alongside football, but as part of it.
We do this by:
03
We chose the word deliberately. Football's national and continental authorities have earned their role as custodians of the game, and they're understandably protective of it. GWFA isn't built to compete with that. It's built to work within it.
As an alliance of clubs, associations, and players, we aim to offer FIFA, UEFA, and national federations a structure they can integrate with, not a rival to negotiate against. We're a collaborative partner, not a competing governing body. That's the whole point of the name.
04
GWFA is built for the whole international walking football community: players, countries, national associations looking for international recognition, and the governing bodies who want a credible, unified partner to work with.
Whether you're an emerging walking football nation or have an established structure or national and international teams, there's a place for you in the Global Walking Football Alliance.
