This policy explains what personal information the Global Walking Football Alliance (GWFA) collects when you use globalwfa.org or get in touch with us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and in plain English.
1. Who we are
The Global Walking Football Alliance (“GWFA”, “we”, “us”) is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@globalwfa.org about anything in it.
2. What we collect
When you email us
This website has no contact form. If you email us at info@globalwfa.org, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us, such as your name, country, organisation, role, and the content of your message. We only use what you send.
When you visit the website
We do not use cookies, advertising trackers or analytics tools on this website, and we do not ask you to create an account.
Like all websites, our hosting provider receives basic technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. Providers typically keep this in server logs for security and to keep the site running. We do not use it to identify you.
The website’s typefaces (Barlow and Barlow Semi Condensed) are loaded from Google Fonts. When your browser requests it, Google receives your IP address and browser details. Google’s use of that information is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use the information you email to us to read and reply to your message, to tell you about the alliance or membership if that is what you asked about, and to keep a record of our correspondence.
Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running the alliance (Article 6(1)(f) of the UK and EU GDPR). If we ever want to send you anything beyond what you asked for, we will ask for your consent first.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Who we share it with
We only share your information with the people and services we need to run the alliance and deal with your enquiry:
- the GWFA officers and volunteers who deal with enquiries;
- service providers who act on our behalf and under our instructions, such as our email and website hosting providers; and
- where the law requires it, public authorities.
Some of these providers may be located outside the UK or the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we expect them to protect your information to an equivalent standard, for example through approved standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your email and our replies for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and the relationship that follows it. If you do not become involved with the alliance, we delete enquiries when they are no longer needed, and we review them at least every 24 months.
6. Your rights
Under data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- delete your information;
- restrict how we use it;
- stop using it where we rely on our legitimate interests; and
- give you your information in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email info@globalwfa.org. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office; elsewhere in Europe it is the authority in your own country.
7. Other websites
This website links to other sites, including the website of our sister organisation, the European Walking Football Alliance (EWFA). The European Walking Football Alliance is a separate organisation. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites, so please read their policies.
8. Children
This website is for organisations and adults involved in walking football. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, for example by adding analytics or a contact form, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
